Yes, it’s true, the time has come again for a new Mapzzz EP, and as a few (and possibly the only) days of real summer have finally descended upon us in the Bay, we thought it was only right to take a step away from the abstract outings that have defined our EP series as of late and present something a little more aligned with the season. And with that, we give you the gloriously blissful synth-pop stylings of Oakland’s own PARENTZ. Don’t let the menacing cover art fool you though, as the three offerings to be had on this EP are anything but aggressive. Instead, PARENTZ has brought two smooth, lush excursions of anthemic electronic pop to the table, and even tagged on a super deep remix from Mapzzz-favorite shortcircles to make things just that much sweeter. With a forthcoming tape release for the Chill Mega Chill imprint and an eventual LP on its way in the coming months, we’re pleased to offer an early taste of what we’re sure will be plenty more hot jams to come from this Oakland up-and-comer. -via mapzzz.com
