The name Scott Ferrara is mostly unfamiliar to those outside of the Mapzzz circle, but for those of us lucky enough to have known the man when he resided in Oakland, the name and these tracks are all too familiar. So when, upon dredging through and clearing space on a forgotten hard drive, we came across these four tunes which Ferrara cooked up sometime around 2008/2009 but which never saw a proper release, we figured it was only right to correct the situation by compiling them together for Mapzzz EP15. Part M83, part Mu-ziq, the three originals and one remix presented here are all memorable excursions into the land of giant synths, epic drums, and anthemic guitars, all with just the right hint of IDM electronics.
